I wish that I could write an eloquent note to you that somehow expresses how I feel about the 3 of you and what it means to me when we get together as we did on Saturday night. When I try to explain to people what I did this weekend and explain to them about you as Double Axel and as people somehow I fall short. I am convinced that they all think that a band that plays music from more than 30 years ago must be a trio of nice men who like to get together so that we can cha cha the night away. I try to explain to them what songs you play and how you play them but most of the people don't know Barney Bye, the Fabulous Rhinestones, Orleans and even the Doobie Brothers (believe it or not). The connection we have is something that is unexplainable like the big bang theory or the Bermuda Triangle. I want to put it into words but every time I try, I fall short. I guess that I should just except the fact that we all have a friendship and connection that there are no words for. When I am on the dance floor and I look around and see everyone dancing and raising their fingers to Still the One I realize that your music and us are woven together like a fine fabric that has lasted thought the years. I love to see new attendees looking at my poster collection for the first time re-living there college experience through words on a piece of paper that I took off the wall in the student union. Really what I think I want to say to the 3 of you is that if the experiences that you have shape your life and who you are then you are a big part of who I am. My years in Potsdam were short but the impact that you have had on me has been great and enduring. I consider all of you to be some of the best people I have ever known and my life wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you for Saturday night it refreshed my spirit and brought me back to some of the days that I loved the best. Thanks for Tumblin Inn that was really special to me. Take care and I keep in touch.
